The Pygmy Goat Four

Bio

The Pygmy Goat Four are senior goats who came to us from loving owners who were no longer able to care for them due to their own health concerns. They had been named for characters on the show NCIS, and we just felt that we couldn't change names they'd had for over ten years. Tony, with his blue steel eyes and one tiny horn, or scur, is the only male in a herd of females, and he lets the others take charge. Kate, with her doe-colored coat and black beard, is the most affectionate of our goats and is always up for some nose-to-nose time with any human she meets. Gibbs, our cookie-dough-ice-cream girl, is a big fan of treats and follows us everywhere-- not for cuddles, but just in case we might have something to snack on. Abby, our black and white girl, is social and curious but spent her first year with us absolutely opposed to being touched. In spring when all the others love to have their winter coats brushed out, Abby ran around leaving fleecy clumps behind her, refusing all help. Today she will accept pats on her neck and back, standing very still and being very brave. She is an independent girl, and we love her spirit.
